GG SuperFiber bran bread has a long tradition. The recipe originated in the 1930s when a baker from Røa in Oslo had stomach problems. He understood that he had to create a recipe rich in fiber (dietary fiber) to overcome his ailments. The result was GG SuperFiber. We still use the approximately 80-year-old recipe invented by baker Gunder Gundersen.

Our products have few carbohydrates because insoluble dietary fiber from wheat bran is not absorbed by the body. Wheat bran fiber helps to speed up the passage through the intestine. This beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 10 g of fiber from wheat bran - which corresponds to 3 GG.

A slice of GG SuperFiber Rug contains 22 kcal and Oats provide 25 kcal
per slice. All varieties are rich in protein.

Bran and whole grains are two different things. The bran is the shell of the grain while the whole grain is the whole grain. Most of the dietary fibre, vitamins and minerals are found in the shell (bran). The bread scale only tells you how much fiber is in bread made from whole grains. Extra coarse bread has only 6 - 8% fiber (6 - 8 g fiber per 100 g bread) compared to GG SuperFiber which has 45 g fiber per 100 g product, i.e. 6 times more.

GG UniqueFiber is the only manufacturer in the world that makes crisp bread with a fiber content of up to 50%. Ordinary shortbread contains 8 - 18% fibre.


We only use Norwegian raw materials and Norwegian wheat is world-renowned for its unique quality.
The bran breads are baked for a long time to preserve all vitamins and minerals.
Wheat bran is the best source of dietary fiber.

This makes GG products completely unique in weight reduction courses. The largest diet clubs such as Slimming World in England are major users of our fiber products.

GG SuperFiber is now produced at Hegdal in Larvik. Production was moved from the bakery at Røa to Larvik in 1977.
